Elmac Technologies’ light-duty flame arresters deliver safety and cost savings
3rd March 2008
Elmac Technologies, the acknowledged international leaders in flame and
explosion safety systems, have developed a range of in-line and end-of-line
deflagration flame arresters especially for light-duty applications.
Each model provides a low cost solution for applications where a simple lightweight product is required.
Microbore in-line light duty arresters (MB-IB)
Elmac Technologies’ microbore in-line deflagration flame arresters have been specifically designed for the protection of gas sampling and analysis equipment and other electrical enclosures where flammable vapours are present. Other applications include the protection of small-bore pipework against the risk of explosion.
End-of-line light-duty arresters (SVE and SV range)
The explosion protection specialist's SVE and SV flame arrester models have been
developed for installation at the end of a pipeline or on small tanks and vessels
where the gas flow is small. The SV range provides the benefit of being extremely lightweight and is typically used on portable gas testing equipment and similar
devices. The SVE and SV ranges have been designed for use on relatively small
pipe sizes up to a maximum of 50mm nominal bore.
Gas Groups
MB-IB in-line and SVE/SV end-of-line deflagration arresters are suitable for use with gases in Groups I, IIA, IIB1, IIB2 and IIB3.
Comments Elmac Technologies' Managing Director , Dr. Martyn Cooling, "Since we
introduced the light-duty explosion protection range of flame arresters, numerous
organisations have selected them for their compact design and particular suitability
for gas purging, sampling line and analysis applications. Purpose-designed for less
demanding tasks, they can also offer considerable cost savings."
The benefits of using Elmac Technologies' light duty-flame arresters include:
Range of sizes: 15mm to 50mm NB for SVE/SV and 15mm to 20mm NB for MB-IB
Suitable for gases with MESG > 0.65mm (gas group IIB3)
Lightweight - SVE in carbon steel or stainless steel housings SV in zinc or aluminium
alloy
BSP/NPT male or female screwed connections in accordance with ISO7-1 and ISO7-2
Optional weatherhood for environmental protection
