End of Line Deflagration Arrester for use with Pressure/Vacuum Relief ValvesFE-IE series end-of-line deflagration arresters are designed to be used in conjunction with pressure/vacuum relief valves, to prevent propagation of flames in gas or vapour mixtures. FE-IE arresters are specifically designed to be located below the inlet of a pressure/vacuum relief valve, thereby providing an extra layer of tank protection.

Pressure/Vacuum Relief Valves (Breather Valves)Pressure / vacuum relief valves (also known as breather valves, conservation vents, or safety vents) are used extensively on bulk storage tanks, including fixed roof tanks with floating covers, to minimise evaporation loss. The valves prevent the build up of excessive pressure or vacuum which can unbalance the system or damage the storage vessel.

ManwaysNon-sparking, low pressure access manways offer easy entry to low-pressure storage tanks for maintenance and cleaning. Emergency relief manways permit access to low pressure storage tanks and provide emergency venting in the event of fire.

Gauge HatchesGauge hatches allow easy access to atmospheric liquid storage tanks for manual level measurement (dipping), temperature measurement and sampling. Gauges can also be combined with a pressure/vacuum relief mechanism, or free vent to offer various levels of pressure relief protection.

Free VentsFree vents are designed for use on any atmospheric tank to prevent the build-up of internal pressure, by allowing atmospheres and vapours to flow freely in tanks or vent riser pipes.

Tank Blanketing ValvesTank blanketing valves offer complete protection to the storage tank product against contamination and to the storage tank itself against rupture or damage. In addition to preventing outside air and moisture from entering the storage vessel, a blanket gas pressure reduces the evaporation of the stored product to a negligable amount.

Arrester ElementsSpare arrester elements are available for many of the Elmac Technologies® end-of-line and in-line deflagration and detonation arresters. Although it is hoped that an element never need be replaced due to a deflagration or detonation event, it is often useful to have a spare element for times such as routine maintenance, when elements can be easily swapped out to minimise plant down-time.

Bursting DiscsBursting Discs (or rupture discs) are used to protect plant, pipework, and vessels from high levels of overpressure and vacuum. Elmac Technologies offers a range of bursting discs for different applications and mountings.
Disc types available include forward acting, reverse acting, scored, inverted, insulated, and dual-pressure rated. Product selection is based upon a number of contributing factors. Go to the bursting disc product page for more information.
Pressure & Temperature SensorsMonitoring flow conditions (temperature, pressure etc.) within a flame arrester can not only provide a source of useful process information, but data streams can also be incorporated into safety systems to detect possible element blockages (indicated by unexpected pressure differentials) or stabilised burning conditons (indicated by unexpected temperature rises).
Elmac in-line deflgration and detonation arresters have options for the inclusion of process monitoring equipment such as thermocouples and pressure transducers.
